NJTL Wraps Up Another Successful Year
This week, NJTL will conclude another summer of bringing tennis to juniors across San Antonio. Over 2200 participants have joined SATA on courts from Seguin all the way to Harlandale High School. A play day, pizza party with face painting, coloring contest, the tooth fairy and a special end of summer thank you gift will conclude the summer program this Thursday at McFarlin Tennis Center. SATA would like to say a big thank you to all the staff, counselors, sponsors, parents and participants for making this summer awesome - we hope to see you next summer and look for updates throughout the year as the NJTL program grows and expands.
SATA Selected by USTA to Join Capacity Building Program
The San Antonio Tennis Association, Inc. was invited by the USTA National NJTL Capacity Building Program to participate in a three year program starting January of 2018. This program will help SATA build their management team infrastructure to help ensure the community tennis association remains sustainable and impactful.
The NJTL network serves more than 225,00 children each year thanks to the efforts of more than 500 nonprofit organizations which provide free or low-cost tennis, education and life skills programming to under-resourced children throughout the United States.
The Capacity Building program provides long-term technical assistance for chapters committed to achieving significant growth. Our chapter in the San Antonio area has seen a steady growth since the summer of 2014, from 2,250 to over 7,250 players in 2016. By 2018, SATA plans to grow the junior program by 20 percent.
